The Squires are Richmond's first AAU Boys Basketball Program, founded in 1987/1988 by Tony Squire. Tony has dedicated over 14 years of his young life to developing a fine Program for hundreds of players across the state of Virginia as well as surrounding states.

Since the program's inception, over 180 young men have received college scholarships. The program has been fortunate to have had former players who now have worldwide recognition, including Ray Allen and Kevin Garnnett of the Boston Celtics. Also, NFL players Darrin Sharper and Jamie Sharper are Squires alums.

Parents have seen the benefit of participating in the program by making the sacrifice of driving as far as six hours to have their sons be a part. Players come from the entire state of Virginia as well as other nearby states, which makes for a very competitive program.  The Squires' motto is "A Degree for Free." Remember to invest in yourself first by dedicating your young lives to relentless skill development on and off the court. Get the best education possible through hard work and dedication and be a steward of your life endeavors.

Believe in yourself, invest in yourself, work smart, work hard, persevere through life difficult moments, and keep your head up.
