Basketball DiaryJune 17-22, 2008 NBA Top 100 Camp, VAJune 25-28, 2008 Nike Steve Nash Skills, NJ June 28-30,2008 University of Michigan I am Darius Morris Class of 2009 Point Guard from Los Angeles California. Over these past two weeks I've traveled over 14,300 miles and counting. The dates and events above mark only the major events I've been blessed to participate in over this two week span.
At 4:45am the following morning I found myself on a shuttle to the airport to catch a flight to Detroit, Michigan to visit the University of Michigan. I arrived at my destination around 10:30am. My parents flew from Los Angeles and picked me up at the airport. They were happy to see me since I was away from them for 4 days, which I've gotten used to on the basketball circut. We arrived at Michigan's campus and I was told that people there were anxiously awaiting my visit and couldn't wait to see me play. I was excited as well to visit the school because I had heard great things about it from many people. Two hours after getting off the plane I was lacing it up to play in the Team Camp alongside 2010 recruit Nate Lubick and some incoming freshman at Michigan. Despite being jet lagged I managed to perform well in all 3 of my games and seemed to please all the fans, players and coaches. But I felt my body run out of gas in the third game and quickly rushed to my cousin Linda Hopkins house to get some well needed rest. The next morning I took an unofficial to see the Michigan Campus. The coaches set up everything nicely and even on sunday gave me the opportunity to meet some important people at Admissions and Athletics. I got to see the beautiful campus Michigan has to offer and got feel the love. To top it off I got to play and interact with some of current players like Mannie Harris. All in all, my trip to Michigan was great but I can't wait to get back to my own bed and rest up for Nike Lebron Camp which is for the Top 80 players in the nation, so I have to be 100%. I know my last two weeks have been rough but as a hooper determined to be one of the best this is what I live for. So Till Next Time I Find Time To Write. Peace. |
