GBOA’s 3-Point Shootouts will take place in all four regional tournaments and the Challenge of Champions. The Shootout will share the spotlight with the Slam Dunk Contest in the Saturday Night Skills Competition, following the conclusion of pool play.

The top six sharp shooters from each GBOA region will take the court to display their impeccable aim and touch. The competition will follow traditional 3-point contest rules, with players having one minute to shoot five balls from each of five spots around the arc, accumulating points for each shot made.

Last year’s champion Brady Heslip of Grassroots Canada (see video below) is now a senior and will be watching from the sidelines, so the 2008 title is up for grabs. Which sharpshooter will emerge to claim the crown? It remains to be seen, but GBOA tournaments feature the best of the best, and this year’s shooters will be no exception. Their pinpoint accuracy rivals the best in the game, so don’t be surprised if you see them on the NBA hardwood soon!
